Kate White, Marbles Kids Museum
There is no greater network of professionals in our field and our local chapter has already introduced me to so many of my peers in the industry. I have already had the chance to showcase Marbles unique event spaces at an ISES meeting and look forward to hosting my colleagues again!
Shelley Pearson, Expressions of Love Florist
I met a professional at the first meeting that I provided the florals for at Mitchells and she told me that she needed 50 centerpieces in 2 weeks for an event and would call me. I thought, yeah, ok! I heard from her the following day and have done the same event for the last 3 years! I have learned that if you offer yourself out there to people, you will get a return on your actions, whether it is in the form of a job or a new vendor contact, but it won’t happen if you don’t make ISES work for you. Make positive contacts, get positive results!
Jennifer Kidd, Kidd Photography
When you work and grow a business from home for the first time in your life, you have so many questions and fear swirling around in your head…and it was the comraderie, support and bonds of my fellow ISES members that kept me moving forward even in the face of such a scary thing.” In addition to meeting fellow members, I also found that the contacts and industry specialists we had the opportunity to meet at the ISES events, helped put our studio “On The Map” so to speak, in the Raleigh Event Market. Before we started our membership with ISES not too many locals knew about our studio. I now feel that our studio has become a well known for its photography services in the Triangle and surrounding areas.
Valerie Curran, ELEVATE
When we started ELEVATE two years ago, we were faced with the challenge of getting our name out in the Triangle area to vendors and potential clients. Joining ISES was the best thing that could have happened to us. We were able to sponsor the Trinity Awards to showcase our performers. And we are continually booking new and exciting events due to the wonderful connections we have made through ISES.
Jennifer Viscosi, Jennifer V. Event Design and Planning
As a guest of Stacey Motley, I came to several ISES meetings last year and quickly began networking and meeting others that are involved in the event industry. I realized very quickly how beneficial ISES would be in helping build relationships and decided to join this year. As a former teacher, I know the importance of professional development and continuing education throughout my career and likes that ISES provides opportunities to do so. Thank you to Stacey for introducing me to ISES!
